Are we there yet?

"Are we there Yet?".. i remember when i was really young and travelling to any new place .. by walk.. bus.. bike.. whatever... the question never changed... the anticipation of getting to a place always got the better of me.. and i kept asking that question to the point where everybody else would just want me to shut up :D!!

and thinking of another imminent world war sure has me asking the same quetsion...
maybe its a passing feeling.. or am i being overtly paranoid...?? but reading the news sure gives me the notion that "something's gottta give".. but again these are those times when i wish, not to be correct...

On one end we have the War on Terrorism being waged by the US.... has already left its mark on Afghanistan... us leaving a terrible footprint in Iraq.. and Iran next in its cross-hairs... then theres North Korea as always upto its school bully tactis .. arm twisting to say the least... and to top it all the Middle eastern conflict with Israelis and Palestinians having a go at it again... why cant they ever agree on one thing... after all each man to his own ... alas. so goes the story...

the world over theres another prevalent problem, terrorists.Today's terrorists operate globally, they often raise funds in one country, plan in another, and conduct operations in a third -- all the while communicating, recruiting, and traveling across borders. No one nation can defeat this multinational threat alone. So lets say more or less almost every possible nation is involved in a war in one way or the other.

Yes we do forget the lesser known but severe turmoils in the African continet, with Uganda, Ivory coastr,Ethiopia and a long list of other regions all in a state of half war- half uprising. The military opression in Burma,

If we read beyond page three we will know that theres rampant human rights violation and going on in China, former Russia, Cuba, Africa and our own India.

... To be COntinued....(Scenario change aftr lebanon's intervention... updates to follow..)

What??!!??!! Did you get hold of some classified document from the CIA store??? Did Bush out something along with the explenetive that was caught off his microphone??

Well... never mind... there are always 3 kinds of people...
1) Stand in front of the tanker in
tiananmen square
Before:

After:

2) People who keep asking "are we there yet"

3) And people who make fun of 2)!!

Take your pick!!

PS: I can understand your feelings if you want to make me 1 and get the tanker rolling!!

Its bloody scary to read the news these days.. u start to wonder what will happen to the next generation and whether the world is doomed or if things can go on like this forever!

ya, but when i think of history it is so disillusioning because nothing has changed since then except we have better technology to kill more people and wage more potent wars. It is like human attitude is constant its just that we get better at it with time.
As Ruchika said it is bloody scary to read the news coz i can't even concieve in my head what is to come out of this. ummm long comment that may not have made sense. sorry.:(

@ruchika...
well sure it is scary.. :) ..i agree..
and yeah abt the wondering.. well the next generation might survive.. but accrding to the laws of "vogoninterpretokinesis" this cannot go on forever coz "everything with a beginning has an end" tht includes the strife exxisting now and also the world in which it is existing.
Some day someone.. is going to pull the big trigger and yes the world as we know will be over, henceproved by the nth law tht this cannot continue forever.. it has to "end" sometime.. and all of us too.. :)

@Y..

spot on isnt it as u said "human attitude" never changes...isnt tht why they say "History repeats itself" coz we humans seem to be ever so imcompetent enough tolearn from our past and as u said..find new ways to slaughter lives ..
:) and its easy to conceive whts coming.. its called "the END" the only question is "when'??

well :) dont worry ure comment wasnt too long.. and also long comments are welcome... u should see the average size of my comments ;) .. never a man of few words i guess LOL! thtz me..
